A Summer Visit to Imperial Summer Resort

Date:2006-07-07

As the city of Beijing is suffering from heat waves dealt by a new overheating summer, the 200 crew of Werkhart International jump into the shuttle buses bound for the Imperial Summer Resort in Chengdei, Hebei for a relaxing and cooling trip.

Situated in the basin to the north of Chengde City, the Imperial Summer Resort - twice the size of the Summer Palace and eight times the size of Beihai Park in Beijing- is where the Qing court would migrate each May. This summer retreat provided the royal family almost zen-like architectural simplicity. It is the largest imperial garden existing in the world today. In December 1994 the resort was listed in the Chronology of Recognition of World Heritage.
