Mr. Quinn Lu’s Business Tour of Germany

Werkhart’s Director Mr. Quinn Lu and Architect Mr. Michael Pruss make a business trip to Germany aspiring to seek further collaboration with Werkhart’s loyal partners. On their agenda there are also effort to promote Werkhart Scholarship and appreciation of a special Chinese teahouse.

(1) Meeting with Loyal Partners
In Stuttgart Mr. Lu meets Professor Sobek and Professor Reinke from Werner Sobek Ingenieure. Prof. Sobek introduces to Mr. Lu current high profile projects in the United States, Middle East and China such as the Four Seasons Hotel and the Arcapita Headquarter in Bahrain. In the same city Mr. Lu has the pleasure to visit the Mercedes-Benz Museum, where the Sobek engineers have constructed a futuristic high-tech structure. Professor Sobek expresses his wish to work further in cooperation with Werkhart International at projects in China. A well known project by Sobek in China is the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center.

Also involved in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart is Transsolar Energietechnik GmbH. The CEO Mr. Schuler explains that they have recently been concentrating their work on projects in the United States and Germany. In China they have been providing climate-engineering service for Moma III in Beijing and will develop an energy-concept for a coming top project in Shenzhen.

At Henn Architekten in Munich Mr. Lu is privileged to hear a speech given by Professor Henn to his team of which there are over 30 new employees. In the speech Professor Henn delivers a presentation of dozens of new projects and appreciated the partnership with Werkhart International in China. Henn Architekten is a prestigious architecture design practice that operates worldwide and ranks as a Top World Architect. Their project Automotive Museum in Beijing is now under construction and will be an architectural high-light in the capital. Werkhart International is the local partner for Henn Architecken in China. The two companies have cooperated successfully on many projects across China.

(2) German Universities for Werkhart Scholarship

Werkhart International has set up scholarships in four prestigious Chinese universities, among which are Tsinghua University and Tongji University. In 2006, the group founded another one in the amount of ca. 30,000 Euros so as to support young Chinese architects in pursuing their studies in Europe and North America.

During this trip, Mr. Lu scans German Universities for attractive offers to Chinese students who have won the scholarship.

At the famous Technical University of Munich he meets Professor Hausladen, who initiated the internationally orientated postgraduate course of Climate Design. He invites Mr. Lu to give a speech about Energy Concepts at the construction trade fair BAU 2007 in Munich.

At University of Dortmund the Science Assistant Mr. Rusch from referred to the Dortmunder Model which merges the science of Architecture Design into Construction Engineering and also to the development of a new international postgraduate course in Project Management.

(3) Chinese Teahouse in Hamburg

The City of Shanghai has illustrated their partnership with Hamburg by sending a gift, which is not less than a traditional Chinese teahouse in the style of the teahouse in Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai.

Mr. Lu travels to examine the construction site in Hamburg and met representatives of the City. They discussed the specifications of this unique German-Chinese project.

Citizens in the neighbourhood tell Mr. Lu that they are happy about the teahouse and will be excited to stroll through the Chinese garden in the future.
