Date: 2006-11-17

Winners of WA-Werkhart Bus Stop Design Contest are announced at Unisplendour International Center. Three designs by architecture students from Southeast University, Tsinghua University and South China University of Technology receive the first prize.

It has taken a jury represented by top Chinese figures in the science and industry of architecture to hammer out the list of winners after four rounds of accession of over 300 submissions by students across the country. The jury members have based their selection on the feasibility, economics and aesthetics of the submissions. Special consideration also has gone to the innovative fulfillment of the indented architectural presentation via elements including technology, culture, ecology and regionality.

This contest owes its success to WA magazine and Werkhart International, who have made the proposal and continued their effort down to the conclusive execution.

It is reported that the design by one of first prize winners has received great favour from a major Chinese city whose government has expressed strong interest in adoption.
