Werkhart International Winning the First Prize of a Competition

The international team of Werkhart was award the first prize of the competition of SciTech Museum, Karamay, Xinjiang.
The city of Karamay is a well-known oil-producer in the northwest of China. It has developed a new profile after years of rapid economic growth. In order to improve the life of the local people, the government proposed the building of the SciTech Museum.
The proposal by Werkhart best illustrates the local characteristics and the pioneering spirit of the inhabitants. It took into careful consideration the existing terrain, climatic, cultural features and the historic aspects, as well as the identity of a SciTech museum while seeking a harmony with the neighbouring architectural and landscape elements. The freshness of the proposal also adds to the success.
